BEST BALM CLEANSERS FOR WINTER
My top CLEANSING BALMS that will help keep your skin healthy during the colder months!
Winter months can be harsh on the skin. Living near the Norfolk coast, myself, and many of my brides and clients that live in and around Norwich and the Norfolk coast, I know we all could use a little TLC against the wind and elements!
However, It’s not just the elements outside that can be a pest but the constant central heating blasting our skin and that lack of vitamin D.
I am going to give you the lowdown on cleansing balms I love and hopefully be able to give you a discount as well! I know the quiet months are the months we pinch the pennies! So hopefully the discounts will help!
All products are from Lookfantastic which can be the UK or US site with a discount code of LFTFASHLEYKAY . This code can be used across the site, not just for the products I am tried and tested!
For Normal to Dry Skin
Start with Your Cleanser
Opt for a non-stripping, hydrating cleanser that removes impurities without compromising your skin's natural moisture. I always recommend using a cleanser at night and in the morning, use a cloth and warm water to simply remove impurities and sleep from the face, in the morning. No need to do a full cleanse unwell you had a particularly sweaty night (I know my peri and menopausal girlies know what I am talking about!).
To get us started, here are a few of my favourite products!
First up is my much loved, Ev Lom cleanser. This product not only feels amazing on the skin, the smells amazing. I have used this products for a couple of years now. With Ev Lom you can you will decongest, soften and nourish your skin. This cleansing balm contains ‘clove, eucalyptus, hops oil, chamomile, and cocoa butter’, which you not only feel but can also smell! It literally smells gorgeous and fresh . Includes two muslin cloths for waterproof makeup removal. Use the Eve Lom massage technique for smooth, radiant skin. Enjoy this luxurious experience.
Another beautiful star product I recommend is Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm - This balm is a daily cleanser which I recommend using at night. It will take off your makeup and cleanse your skin at the same time as nourishing and balance it with moringa seed extract (which is an antioxidant), vitamin E to nourish and moisturise.
This product comes with a microcloth as well! I always recommend microcloths over wipes or throwaway cotton pads. This way it can gently remove makeup and dirt from the skin, whilst gently exfoliating the skin without disturbing the skin barrier.
The grape seed and sweet almond oil also leave the skin feeling firm yet soft in texture. None of that dry, cracked feeling! Which is the worst in the winter months!
Because the balm is enriched with an infusion of orange, neroli, mandarin, jasmine and rose essential oils, you can also use it as a hydrating treatment mask which can be left on for 10 minutes.
My third recommendation, which I am sure you have all heard of, it the Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm.
This balm is a bit of a hero product in the industry! I have never heard a bad thing about it! It’s great for everyone! They have the naked version which is unscented for those with allergies and skin irritations due to added fragrances. They also have the fig fragrance and then the rose balm which is great for brightening and soothing. This is a hero product because of its multi use properties! It not only removes dirt and makeup, it can nourish and hydrate the skin! Which is much needed during these darker months.
Padina pavonica, a brown algae, helps keep skin moist and elastic. When paired with starflower oil, it nourishes and calms the skin. Elderberry oil leaves skin smooth. This balm features nine essential oils, such as lavender and chamomile, creating a spa-like cleansing experience with a pleasant scent and great benefits.
I hope these are helpful! My next post will be on exfoliants that are gentle yet super effective! Stay tuned!
