Now that is it is 2025, I am guessing you’re in full swing of organising your wedding, or at least doing the finishing touches on it! Also, can I just add, what a lovely, rounded year number it is, to get married in! Something quite appealing about 2025 as a wedding year!

After nearly 17 years in the wedding industry, I have had the privilege of working with countless couples, guiding them through their bridal and groom preparation. From intimate ceremonies to grand celebrations, I’ve been there to ensure each individual feels confident and beautiful on their special day.

Navigating the challenges of the pandemic has only deepened my understanding of flexibility and creativity in the planning process, reminding me that love can triumph in any circumstance. I’ve adapted to new norms and found innovative ways to make each wedding unique, even amid uncertainty. I have a knack for calming nerves and creating a beautifully calm environment to get ready in!

Every wedding tells a story, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of that journey, witnessing the joy and love that make each day truly unforgettable. Let’s create your dream look together.

CONTACT YOUR WEDDING HAIR & MAKEUP ARTIST ASAP!

The first thing you need to do as soon as you know your wedding date and location is to contact your local artist. Many professionals are quickly filling up their calendars with bookings and intimate-weddings for 2025. As a bridal hair and makeup artist serving Norwich, Cambridgeshire, London, Surrey and even destinations across Europe, I require as much notice as possible to accommodate my brides, and I know many artists share this necessity.

Booking early will help you avoid disappointment on your big day. We all understand the significance of looking and feeling like the best version of yourself, and you certainly don’t want to settle! Start chatting with your artist as soon as you can. Especially if you’re requiring two services such as bridal hair and makeup for yourself and bridal party. As many artists will need to secure their assistants early on!

Check their websites for their prices and booking information so that when you do get in touch, you both can begin to build a rapport, get you booked in, and secure your date. Remember that suppliers will not hold your wedding date until contracts and booking fees are completed. If you reach out with a date but delay in booking your artist, there’s a strong possibility that your desired date may be filled by the time you decide. Being proactive in your communication and booking can make all the difference in ensuring your preferred artist is available for your special day.

Finding an artist that aligns with you is important. So never delay in contacting someone you love! Most artists will also recommend other, like minded and styled artists, if they aren’t available but do your research!

ONCE YOU HAVE BOOKED YOUR HAIR & MAKEUP ARTIST, GET YOUR TRIAL BOOKED IN!

Ensure you get your bridal trial booked in 3-4 months in advance, as artists are super busy. Weekdays are always preferred since artists typically work on weekends. Daytime trials are ideal due to the great lighting. My studio for example, boasts beautiful natural light, and being situated on the top floor overlooking Norwich makes it a perfect space for a daytime trial.

Schedule your trial alongside your dress fitting. This is a wonderful opportunity to see your entire look come together.

Have your bridal hair and/or makeup inspiration ready. I have Pinterest boards created specifically for my brides, but it’s important to also utilise examples of my own work. This way, you can show me the styles you love that will suit you best.

Sharing any skin concerns you have, as well as looks you’re not fond of, will provide valuable insight. It's essential to understand both the do’s and don’ts to ensure we're on the same page.

Be prepared to answer several questions about your wedding day! This will help me understand your style and the overall vibe you envision for your big day. We love seeing images of your wedding dress as well!

Trials are great fun and it’s a way for you and your artist to get to know each other.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR WEDDING DAY

A carefully crafted schedule will be created to ensure that the bridal party is completed on time while allowing everyone to savour the little memorable moments throughout the morning. By leaving wiggle room for photos, gift-giving moments, and time for a meal, we create a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere that enhances the bride's experience.

An early start may sometimes be necessary, but a skilled artist will guarantee that this early beginning feels calm and manageable.

For me, It's common for photographers and florists to walk in and remark on how peaceful the environment is. A well-organised bridal prep morning should never feel stressful; it should be a memorable celebration filled with joy and calm. A morning that you will look back on and remember all of the little details!

Áine’s review!

‘I am so happy I chose Ashley to do my hair and make up for my wedding. She was fantastic. I'd seen from her Instagram that she keeps things natural and knew that was what I wanted for my day. She was so accommodating when I asked to tweak my hair / make up from the trial and I was so so happy with the finished look. I messaged her the next day because I just couldn't believe how well everything lasted right up until midnight!
Ashley also has a lovely, warm energy that is nice to be around on such a special day.
Shout out as well to MUA Victoria Bradfield too, who Ashley recruited for the morning to do all my bridesmaids' make up. She was also amazing and everyone was so happy with their finished looks.’
